NoteBook is a Windows 3.1 program designed for those not expert in computer use to keep field notes of their activities, consultations, interviews, etc as occur in the course of social work and similar occupations.
Freeform Notes are organised into Notebooks, each Notebook covering some topic chosen by the user, in the case of social work it might be a client's case history. Notebooks may be searched according to criteria selected at the time of the search, not at Note or Notebook creation, any afterthought is valid. Any Note can be edited at will.
Notes can be printed, and exported to other Windows documents and files, and can be imported. Export to text editors/word processors allows for any form of formatting. Notes can also be exported to fax and communications programs.
Notes can be of any length, up to about 10 pages each of a standard paperback. Notebooks can hold well over 10,000 Notes each, depending on the disk space available. The number of separate Notebooks stored is again only limited by the environment.
